Over the past five years Arowhenua has been the annual venue for a week long Māori language revitalisation initiative involving fifty to sixty participants and their whānau, that are pursuing excellence in the reo. The workshop facilitators continue to choose Arowhenua as their venue of choice because of geographic location, local history, and the ongoing hospitality of Kāti Huirapa in supporting this nationally relevant challenge to protect the Māori language.
