Aoraki Bound is a joint initiative between Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu and Outward Bound, that comprises a three week long leadership programme designed to build confidence and cultural awareness. Near the end of the programme, participants stay at Te Hapa o Niu Tireni and are introduced to the local history, visit ancient rock art sites, and finish their journey at the base of our ancestral mountain, Aoraki. It is seen by Arowhenua as a privilege to host and an opportunity to share local cultural knowledge and history.
